Welcome to our new chapter Life in the country

It has come time that we are now putting down roots.  Hubby retired in January and now we are at home on his small family owned farm .   There are a few things that we miss but for the most part all of us are very happy.  It is nice to raise the kids in small school setting  and not have to worry about  dealing with  classes of  almost 30 kids.

So let me recap here.

We are slowly fixing things ups.  We have the chicken coop that is almost ready to have some chickens in it  just a few more things like  roosts, nesting boxes and then the feeder/water and straw for the floor.  Opps we still have the run to build yet.  So maybe next spring  I will have some chickens.

We are fixing up the barn and working on building  shelter for the horse and cattle.

We have 4 cows right now.  Beef, Cappy ( short for  Cappuccino), Piper and Mickey   we are looking for a bull as well.  Our small herd runs with his brother herd.  We also have a horse which is named Twix but  she will not be at the farm for a while yet.

We have our first garden planted after a month of  cleaning it out and working the soil  up good. I hope things grow well  its been a while since  I could go pick something out of a garden.

Anyway I will try to get pictures downloaded but being in the country our internet is horrible but I will see what I can all do.

There are a lot of things that need to get done but   2 people can only do so much lol ok make that one person with the help of another with small child on back. And with Kiddo at school we really try to get a bunch done as  Little one and Kiddo do not always agree and Kiddo tries hard to help where she can.

So here are a few pictures of  the place.    Enjoy

Piper, Beef, and Mickey need to get them ear tagged to know who is who

Cappy aka Cappuccino

The coop before we started on it.
