Our Farm

Well learning the farming life is funny at times...  So his brother has four  Steer calves that  hubby and I have been trying to ween.  The other day we caught  them they got out, tried again  caught 3  by morning  they were gone.  So  I told hubby that we need to lock them in the barn lot  yeah we might have to grain them but it would be more secure.   So  yesterday  we called all the cows up  caught all 4 steers as them have been avoiding us and even the crazy cow that really needs to go as she can not be trusted.   So with Little one on my back  hubby down working the gates  I sort through the cows trying to keep all the steers in the upper lot while pushing the other cows down so hubby can turn them out into the field.   Well we did it.  We even oddly got all the cows in another field  however  this morning  the cows were by the barn.  They broke a section of fence and no clue where the other section they went through.  So that is our day...  opps more to add The cows are out  ou

Well lets see almost a month has passed.   We celebrated kiddos and hubby's birthday.  Kiddo got red velvet cupcakes with cookie dough frosting taken up to the school and then since they had a basketball game away she took rice crispy treats to share with the girls and boy's team.  They were a huge hit.  Her basketball has us running  to and from practice and game.  Sounds like her school will have a peewee team that she can be on so she can improve her skills for next year. We have a game tonight and then next week is a tournament then they have one more home game and its done for the year. After Christmas the peewee team starts In farm new not much.  Hubby moved some bales and Little one and I got to ride along.  Tried to wean the steers however first time  they broke the fence.  Hubby fixed it  and then we got two of the 4  and those got out as well and now they will not even come up to the barn.  We check the cows and that is the highlight of Little One's day.
