I know I know but I have been busy

Well lets see almost a month has passed.   We celebrated kiddos and hubby's birthday.  Kiddo got red velvet cupcakes with cookie dough frosting taken up to the school and then since they had a basketball game away she took rice crispy treats to share with the girls and boy's team.  They were a huge hit.  Her basketball has us running  to and from practice and game.  Sounds like her school will have a peewee team that she can be on so she can improve her skills for next year. We have a game tonight and then next week is a tournament then they have one more home game and its done for the year. After Christmas the peewee team starts

In farm new not much.  Hubby moved some bales and Little one and I got to ride along.  Tried to wean the steers however first time  they broke the fence.  Hubby fixed it  and then we got two of the 4  and those got out as well and now they will not even come up to the barn.  We check the cows and that is the highlight of Little One's day.

We were very blessed when a good friend of ours invited us to pick pears.  In total we picked  13 5 gallon buckets full.   We ended up with 8 buckets.  We gave  3 away to friends and family and the rest we have canned into slices, pear butter, pear honey and we still have  2 buckets left to can into something.... and we have been eating them

Days like today ...

Never forget critters have a mind of their own.   To bad you can't train them to come when they have medical issues.  But enough of that... The owner will have to figure out to do it.  We tried  many ways and said screw it.  Today was a day where we got up early.  At four am  Little One had uncovered himself and got cold and just  wanted to snuggle with Mommy.  This is better then getting up 3-4 times a night and I am not going to complain as he is growing up way to fast.  Then came time for Kiddo to get up where she had a melt down cause the night before she stepped in dog poop and it was on the bottom of her shoe and she demanded that hubby or I clean it for her. So then the water works and fit started but ended quickly.  After the Bus showed up we grabbed some breakfast then headed out to water our gardens and trees.  Then we had lunch and checked the cows. Well even if our blackberries are not doing much yet there are a few wild ones that are just as good. Not much going on here other then trying to keep caught up. Why is it you need a vacation from a vacation? Since we have not shopped since we have been back Monday will be a long day as it  DR apt for little one and then grocery shopping ugggg.  I have not seen my fridge and cupboard as bare since we have moved.  Thank goodness for the garden with the cukes and tomatoes  they are a tasty snack and the freezer full of beef. Been out weeding things  grass sure grows high  with 5 inch of rain over 4 days.  We mowed  and when we got back you could not even tell. Wow, this year is flying by...  So to catch you all up since I am 2 years behind on this.  So first off the kids are a freshman and a pre-K'er.  We have adopted a kitten that was dumped around our house. She is quite the little troublemaker/spitfire but so loveable and wants to be loved on.   It's calving season.  Now on top of all that we just bought 10 acres of land with a house that sat in the middle of our farm.  The house needs lots of work from not being shut up properly for 2 years.  I started a page to show the slow transformation of the place.  But that is where we are.  Both kids are loving school.  Kiddo is in Thespian and art clubs and I must say we are so proud of her.  The only freshmen in the math class of  Jr's and Sophomores also she is in Honors English and History.  Straight A's for our girl so far.  Little One loves school, all the ladies get a kick out of him as he does this thing where he raises his eyebrows its a riot.  But he is such a gentleman
