First week of July

Well I know  I have not posted if a few since Montana but things here are just slow.  Lets see first off we tried to ear tag the cattle with fly tags how ever got only 2 of Hubby's brothers herd (damn horned cattle uggg)  Issues  with the chute and horns.  However we were lucky and got our 4 to run through and got tags and the fly tags in.   July 1st  Little One got bite by a wasp on his cheek that was scary for awhile.  Yesterday was the 4th and we went to supper at hubby's brothers house and  then went to see the fireworks.  Was not impressed as we got to see maybe 20 of them over the trees. Next year we will know better.   Today  is/was my birthday and I stuck around the house.  We had lunch then went to the lake for fun however the lake was up so there was no playing in the water or at the playground so we came home.  Kiddo and I went down to the creek and caught some crawdads and had science lessons.  She made my heart swell when she was pointing out places that were good to set traps.  Then we came home changed and went up to hubby's mom's house as they were down for the weekend.  She cooked me a birthday dinner. It was very sweet of  her and I appreciate it but I really really dislike Meatloaf  and that is what we had but there were lots of other yummy things.  Then we came back home Hubby and I checked the garden and then the kiddos and I made a mock firepit and made smores.  Then I called and wished my Dad a happy Birthday  as his is tomorrow while watching the fireflies.

So that was my day week lol whatever.  What I really need is a maid or  3 of me to keep up with the house work.

The Ebony Jewelwing is a damselfly. Damselflies are closely related to dragonflies and they look very much alike. The easiest way to tell dragonflies and damselflies apart is to look at the wings. Dragonfly wings stick straight out from the body when the dragonfly is resting. Damselfly wings usually fold back above the body.

Well even if our blackberries are not doing much yet there are a few wild ones that are just as good. Not much going on here other then trying to keep caught up. Why is it you need a vacation from a vacation? Since we have not shopped since we have been back Monday will be a long day as it  DR apt for little one and then grocery shopping ugggg.  I have not seen my fridge and cupboard as bare since we have moved.  Thank goodness for the garden with the cukes and tomatoes  they are a tasty snack and the freezer full of beef. Been out weeding things  grass sure grows high  with 5 inch of rain over 4 days.  We mowed  and when we got back you could not even tell. Days like today ...

Never forget critters have a mind of their own.   To bad you can't train them to come when they have medical issues.  But enough of that... The owner will have to figure out to do it.  We tried  many ways and said screw it.  Today was a day where we got up early.  At four am  Little One had uncovered himself and got cold and just  wanted to snuggle with Mommy.  This is better then getting up 3-4 times a night and I am not going to complain as he is growing up way to fast.  Then came time for Kiddo to get up where she had a melt down cause the night before she stepped in dog poop and it was on the bottom of her shoe and she demanded that hubby or I clean it for her. So then the water works and fit started but ended quickly.  After the Bus showed up we grabbed some breakfast then headed out to water our gardens and trees.  Then we had lunch and checked the cows. Wow, this year is flying by...  So to catch you all up since I am 2 years behind on this.  So first off the kids are a freshman and a pre-K'er.  We have adopted a kitten that was dumped around our house. She is quite the little troublemaker/spitfire but so loveable and wants to be loved on.   It's calving season.  Now on top of all that we just bought 10 acres of land with a house that sat in the middle of our farm.  The house needs lots of work from not being shut up properly for 2 years.  I started a page to show the slow transformation of the place.  But that is where we are.  Both kids are loving school.  Kiddo is in Thespian and art clubs and I must say we are so proud of her.  The only freshmen in the math class of  Jr's and Sophomores also she is in Honors English and History.  Straight A's for our girl so far.  Little One loves school, all the ladies get a kick out of him as he does this thing where he raises his eyebrows its a riot.  But he is such a gentleman
